Three Exhibit for First Friday at Alleda

What better time or place could there be to find great holiday gifts for yourself or the ones you love than Art Walk!

Please join us for First Friday (5pm to 8:30pm) on December 2nd in Bend, Oregon. Original artwork by Cameron Kaseberg, Barbara Slater and Joren Traveller is featured at Alleda Real Estate, 25 NW Minnesota Ave. just across from the Oxford Hotel on NW Minnesota Ave.

Barbara paints oils with energy and spirit, her pigmentation is rich and succulent, while her brushwork is bold and responsive. See her beautiful foal painting and her amazing insight into nature.

Cameron has developed the once obscure process of solvent transfer, brought to prominence in the 1950s by Robert Rauschenberg, to new levels of expressiveness. He will be showing several brand new pieces.

Joren Traveller is captivated by form and texture. She works in clay and wax to produce bronze and ceramic sculpture. Her art captures the character and personality of the individual creature and makes it come alive to the observer.

The show is up for the month of December but Cameron and Barbara will be at Alleda Real Estate from 5:30 to 8:30pm on Dec 2nd to talk art!

For more information on the exhibit please contact the artists. Contact information can be found at the HDAL website.

 Newbold's "Coquelicots de Provence" (watercolor, 20” x 24”)
"You've seen them in photos and paintings: those shimmering fields full of glorious red poppies in Provence. (They're so gorgeous they actually stop traffic; people see them, pull over and spring from their cars, cameras and sketchbooks in hand.) Well here's your chance to experience them firsthand, with a well-known, fully bilingual artist/instructor as your guide."

Kaseberg at Studio West in Eugene

Cameron Kaseberg may becoming known as the artist who has taken the solvent transfer process of image making further than any artist working today. He has developed the once obscure process, brought to prominence in the 1950s by Robert Rauchenberg, to new levels of expressiveness. In Northwest regional exhibits and at national art fairs, Kaseberg's works have been received with enthusiasm for their inventiveness and as expressions of human sensibilities.

What Kaseberg expresses in his work is based on his background of having been raised on a ranch in Eastern Oregon, having been educated in excellent schools and having lived long enough to reflect on life through his art work in ways that seem to appeal to the many who collect his work.
An exhibit of Cameron's work is currently featured at the Studio West Gallery in Eugene, Oregon through June 1, 2011. The gallery is part of the Lane Arts Council's First Friday ArtWalk each month. On the April 1st ArtWalk, Cameron will be at the gallery between 6pm and 9pm.

A fine art gallery and glass blowing studio, Studio West is located at 245 West 8th Avenue, Eugene, Oregon (541-683-WEST). For more information on Cameron's work or to receive his newsletter, visit www.kaseberg.com.

Jacqueline Newbold Teaching Watercolor Journaling on the Island of Syros, Greece

Jacqueline Newbold's Watercolor Journal and Supplies
I will be teaching Watercolor Journaling in Greece on the island of Syros. This class is offered through the American College of Healthcare Sciences, May 27 – June 2, 2011
A lot of people enjoy writing in journals, taking field notes, collecting memorabilia and souvenirs of their travels, and drawing little sketches of their journeys. I call this art journaling but I take it a step further and incorporate watercolor with my art journals.  Watercolor journaling is a wonderful way to slow down and savor the moment, recording your journey in a unique and memorable way. With your journal under your arm and a few painting supplies, you will be ready to capture memories of your Greek Island experiences. This dynamic class will motivate artists of all skill levels to record their journeys in a creative and unique way using watercolor and mixed media.  Students will explore ways to make their watercolor travel journal interesting and reflective of their experiences through painting the Greek landscape and the essence of the Greek lifestyle.  Some of the techniques I will be teaching include watercolor painting, drawing, color theory, incorporating mixed media and how to make quick-on the go-watercolor sketches.
This class is still open for registration, so click here to sign up!  As always, I enjoy your comments.  Please let me know if you have any questions.
