Jacqueline Finishes up Watercolor Series

Jacqueline Newbold just finished teaching the last class in a fun watercolor series.  During this final class, students tried something new and painted on Masa Paper.  Masa paper is a soft, white, machine-made Japanese paper that is used for printmaking, sumi, marbling as well as painting with watercolors. We also explored how to use the elements of design in our watercolor paintings.  Here are some photos from our classes:

HDAL Plans for Second Annual Smith Rock Paint Out

The High Desert Art League has been working on the second annual Smith Rock Paint Out.  It is a free event open to the public on June 21, 2014.  Last year we had painters working in oil, watercolor, pastel and acrylic. Come join us!

Art, Wine, and Jazz at Broken Top

Thursday night, May 15 from 5:30 to 7:30. The clubhouse is open to the public, so come join in the fun!

Broken Top is hosting the event on their Jazz & Wine tasting evening.

The Arrangement

This Friday is Art Walk in downtown Bend.  The Red Chair Gallery is showing Encaustics ( wax paintings) and metal water fountains as the feature for May.  The Arrangement by Janice Rhodes is one of fifteen Encaustics on exhibit.  If you drop by, ask Janice the encaustic process and enjoy a glass of wine.
