The opening of the "Impressions of the Seasons" exhibit was Saturday (9-4-10) with a well attended, lively reception. The show will be up through September and is worth seeing as the 40 or so paintings are varied in media and subjects.
HDAL artists Helen Brown and Jacqueline Newbold each have 2 watercolor paintings, and I have a small oil of the Deschutes River at Lower Bridge. All 3 of us get out often to paint 'en plein air' or in the open. It's lots of fun and very satisfying to spend time outdoors with nature and come home with a work of art in 2 - 3 hours. Vivian Olsen

This presentation of exceptional work by the diverse members of the High Desert Art League is a great opportunity to view art in a variety of mediums by some of central Oregon’s most talented artists. A reception celebrating the artists and the high desert palette will be held in the beautiful and expansive Rotunda Gallery, just inside the entrance to the Barber Library (2600 NW College Way, Bend, Oregon) at Central Oregon Community College October 7th from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
