The opening of the "Impressions of the Seasons" exhibit was Saturday (9-4-10) with a well attended, lively reception. The show will be up through September and is worth seeing as the 40 or so paintings are varied in media and subjects.
HDAL artists Helen Brown and Jacqueline Newbold each have 2 watercolor paintings, and I have a small oil of the Deschutes River at Lower Bridge. All 3 of us get out often to paint 'en plein air' or in the open. It's lots of fun and very satisfying to spend time outdoors with nature and come home with a work of art in 2 - 3 hours. Vivian Olsen
