Art inspired by Places that are Far and Near
Three well-known local artists present ‘Places’ - an exhibit of paintings and photography depicting places far and near where they each found their artistic inspiration. Vivian Olsen, Richard Frederick and Shelly Wierzba, all members of the High Desert Art League, have their varied artworks on display at Broken Top Clubhouse in Bend, Oregon from mid March- until May 14, 2014.
Richard is currently producing fine art prints in Black and White, Platinum/Palladium, and Color - some on canvas such as the photograph shown left. His ability to produce fine art photographs derives from an extensive background in science together with an acquired ability to “see” the subject matter as more than a collection of inanimate objects. More of his work can be seen at www.fredfineartphoto.com

Vivian’s new watercolors and acrylic paintings feature colorful village scenes from her recent trips to Italy and France. She captures the charm of ancient stone arches and narrow alleyways in hill-top towns and coastal ports from her travels in France and Italy. View her website at www.vivianolsen.com.

As an artist Shelly (below right) uses oil, acrylic, or watercolor mediums to create her unpredictable and creative paintings. She has recently narrowed down her focus to painting the central Oregon landscape and the human figure in oils. View her website at www.shellywiezba.com.
