First Friday in Bend – An Intimate Group Show.

First Friday in Bend, Oregon would not be complete without members of The High Desert Art League (HDAL) exhibiting in one venue or another. This Friday (February 1) HDAL members Cameron Kaseberg, David Kinker, Helen Brown, Jacqueline Newbold, Janice Rhodes, Joren Traveller, Pam Jersey Bird, Richard Frederick and Vivian Olsen are exhibiting and an intimate group show at Alleda Real Estate. The work ranges from photography and solvent transfer work to watercolor, acrylics, and encaustics.

Alleda Real Estate is located at 25 NW Minnesota Avenue across from The Oxford Hotel and amid a myriad of businesses on NW Minnesota Ave. staying open late for First Friday. We are next to Thump Coffee and Karen Bandy Studio. Stop by and see us all! The exhibit will be up for the month of February if you miss us Friday!

Helen Brown, and David Kinker will be featured in the "Colors of Central Oregon" show at the Tumalo Art Gallery.   Jacqueline Newbold is a featured artist at the Red Chair Gallery in the "Power of Color" Show.  Both of the shows open with the Bend, Oregon's First Friday Art Walk and will continue through the month of February.

Heart Series, Love, Love - Mixed Media

Friday, February 1, 2013 is Bend, Oregon's First Friday.  It is like a giant party all over town.  The shops and galleries stay open till 9 pm serving food, wine and beer.  I will be one of the featured artist at the Red Chair Gallery.  In honor of the month of love, I have been having a great time playing around with making some watercolor/acrylic/collage paintings with a heart theme.

Discover Italy and France through Art

Discover Italy and France through Art is the title for the new show opening this evening at Central Oregon Community College Rotunda Gallery, Bend, Oregon.  Candice Simpson will share her Italian experience as a COCC study Abroad student  through her photographs.  I will be showing my French and Italian watercolor paintings.  I will also have on display some of my watercolor travel journals.  The Rotunda Gallery is located on the campus in the Barber Library.  The show will end February 27, 2013.
